Reminders for tomorrow's trip

A few things to remember for tomorrow:

-Coxswains, don't forget your cox boxes, chargers, speed coaches, etc. Pack them in your checked luggage, not your carry-on bags. Bringing metallic timing devices might not be the best thing to try to get through a security check point.

-Bring your school IDs or driver's licenses. If your are over 16, you will need to show an official ID which matches your airline boarding pass. If you are under 16, bring your school ID just to be safe.

-If you will be leaving your car at school over break (this goes for coaches, chaperones and rowers) you need to forward your car color, make, model and license plate number to Deb Madden in the physical plant at dmadden@shipleyschool.org.

-If you have any kind of asthma or allergies, bring extra inhalers or allergy pills. Apparently the pollen coount in Miami is very high right now. For those with asthma issues, you should always have an inhaler with you in the boat, as well as a backup in case you lose your primary inhaler.

-Get excited. the weather in Miami looks to be great during our trip, but make sure you pack enough clothes to be prepared for any weather. The weather there can change very quickly, so make sure that you bring some warm clothes, waterproof clothing, and lots of dry clothing to change into in case you get wet.

-Despite some confusion, the bus does leave from the Shipley gym at 4 pm tomorrow. Please be ready to go well before then and have your bags loaded on the buses.

-Only bring one bag to check in. Try to pack somewhat conservatively. You can bring on one carry-on bag and a personal item There is no charge on the way down on Southwest Airlines, but there will be a baggage charge on American Airlines for the return trip. I belive it's either 20 or 25 dollars. Just be prepared.

See everyone tomorrow!

-Tom
