Some reminders and info as you make final preparations for the biggest high school regatta ever held.
1. We will use a Traffic Light Starting System for the first time this year. It will be used for semi-finals and finals, and was used successfully at the Dad Vails this past weekend. More info at www.stotesburycupregatta.com under Competitors
Start Rules.
2. We’ve posted a new video that shows the start area during time trials. Be sure to have your teams watch it. More info at http://www.stotesburycupregatta.com/ under Gallery
Videos.
3. Link to another video on Backing Onto A Stakeboat posted under Competitors
Backing Onto A Stakeboat. Have your teams watch that one, too.
Reminders
1. Boat trailers cannot pull into the Three Angels launch area prior to noon Thursday. This will be strictly enforced. More info under Competitors / Trailer Parking.
2. Parking is more restricted at the Stotesbury Cup Regatta than at the Manny Flicks or City Championships. There are only so many spaces available on Kelly Drive. Most cars will be directed off Kelly Drive to parking on the plateau overlooking the river. We will provide continuous free shuttle bus service from there down to the venue on Friday and Saturday. There is also a very walkable and family friendly path down thru the woods. More info at http://www.stotesburycupregatta.com/ under Spectators
Parking.
3. Chuck Wagons need their own special parking pass which may be purchased for $50 either at Lloyd Hall during registration or at Regatta HQ tent at Three Angels on Friday or Saturday.
4. Registration Thursday, 3:00 to 6:30 pm, at Lloyd Hall. Lloyd Hall is on Boathouse Row, about 1 mile from the Athlete’s Village at the Three Angels. All crews must register.
5. Coaches and coxswains meeting Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. at Lloyd Hall. All crews will be responsible for the information delivered at the meeting.
6. Weigh-ins Thursday, 3:00 to 6:00 pm, and Friday, 7:00 to 10:00 am, at the Athlete’s Village. You can do either but not both. If you weigh in the day before your race, you do not need to weigh in again on the morning of your race. Indeed, if you try to weigh in the day before your race and do not make weight, you cannot try again on the morning of your race.
• Lightweight boys 155 lbs.
• Lightweight girls 130 lbs.
• No weight averaging is required.
• No weigh-in forms are required.
• Rowers MUST weigh-in wearing their racing uniform. NO EXCEPTIONS.
7. For time trials, bow numbers will be provided. For conventional six lane semi-finals and finals, bow numbers will not be provided. Each school must provide its own bow number. We will have sets of bow numbers on hand for purchase at registration and during the regatta. No shell may race without a bow number.
8. The crew of any competitor caught stealing or engaging in any unsportsmanlike conduct will, at the discretion of the Regatta Committee, be disqualified.
9. 2011 winners are required to return the trophies at registration. Any trophy questions, please contact Marci Tierney.
10. Schools and parent groups are not permitted to bring their own port-a-potties; there simply isn't enough space. The regatta provides an ample quantity and has them serviced frequently.
11. There is a lot more information about the regatta on our web site and we strongly encourage you and your team and parents groups to read this material thoroughly.
12. And follow us on Facebook and Twitter. We’ll be tweeting results live.
