Sunday Parking Alert

Action Plan
Standard Parking, the company that operates the offsite lots, will distribute a flier to all incoming vehicles for where they manage paid parking services. The parking attendants will tell park patrons to keep the flier displayed on their dashboard.

For added security on  the Edgely lot, once this lot fills, Standard Parking will re-position the two interior flaggers that park the cars, the two entrance flaggers and the cashier evenly throughout the entire roadway to keep a watch on the parked vehicles.  2 flaggers will be evenly spaced between the entrance and the Mansion, the mansion flagger will watch the Mansion area, and 2 additional flaggers will be evenly spaced between the Mansion and the lot exit.  This is a total of 5 flaggers evenly spaced throughout the lot to watch the vehicles.

Edgley is the area of concern because it provides coverage for thieves and easy get in and get out opportunities. This is the lot that first fills up in the morning and the break-ins seem to occur after the commotion ceases and there are no more vehicles parking in the spaces (which takes place around 8am or so), hence why Standard Parking plans to keep the staff there rather than repurpose them to another parking area for parking support. We plan to reevaluate this approach next week and determine if any changes need to be made.

Thanks,

Leslie Pfeil, PSRA President
