I just heard that the petition to enter the Boys' JV Quad has been accepted. Therefore, the following boats will be competing at Nationals:
Girls Varsity Four
Girls JV Four
Boys Varsity Double
Boys JV Quad
Here is the plan for the trip:
We will be going to the river as scheduled on Wednesday, de-rigging the boats and loading the trailer. We are putting our boats on someone else's trailer, so we are bound by his time constraints.
On Thursday, you should bring your bags / suitcases to school with you and leave them in the White Blazer Lounge. As soon as school is done, you should be dressed to row, grab your bags and meet JD and I in the gym circle. We will be taking two vans to Princeton. We will be rigging our boats and practicing on the race course before going to the hotel and checking in. We will be doing a team dinner that night which Mark Duncan has generously offered to pay for.
We will be racing on Friday and hopefully Saturday. If you don't happen to make it through to races on Saturday, you are welcome to stay with the team since the rooms are already paid for, or you can go home if you prefer.
Here is a link to the hotel we are staying in. Mark Duncan has also generously offered to pay for the majority of our hotel costs, but we will still be about $600 short. I can take care of that difference, but if any of the parents of of kids that are rowing are willing to help with the costs, it would certainly be appreciated. Just make a check payable to "The Shipley School" and mail it to me at Box 666, Wayne, PA 19087.
We will be unloading the trailer on Saturday night, after the final races are done. As I said, we are having our boats trailered by someone else, so we don't have the luxury of unloading whenever we want to.
