Don't forget that our annual pre-season meeting will be this Tuesday from 6:45 to 8:45 PM in the Middle School Resource Room. It's the big open area when you walk into the middle school. The first hour will be focused on the novice rowers and parents.
In the interest of not wasting paper or folders, I will not be providing informational binders to everyone at the meeting. Instead, everything you need is on the Blog. shipleycrew.blogspot.com. Please print and fill out the necessary paperwork and bring it with you to the meeting along with a check if possible. There are three categories of information on the Blog. Informational, Forms and On-Line. The Forms are the ones that need to be completed for every rower. Informational is just for your informational purposes. The On-Line is to complete the on-line waiver which has to be done for every rower to be able to race. Below is a description of the documents:
Informational
Coaches Contact Info 2015- Pretty self-explanatory
Miami Itinerary and Items- Details all information for our spring break trip as well as some recommended items to bring.
Shipley Crew FAQs- This is primarily for novices. It should answer many of the questions you may have if you are new to the crew team.
Parent Volunteers '15- This is a list of parents who have volunteered to head up different aspects of the upcoming crew season. If you would like to help out (especially parents of younger rowers) contact that parent directly.
Spring Schedule- 2015- This is the schedule of the upcoming season, including races and dates.
Technology- This just explains how to access our Blog, Google Group and Facebook page.
Forms
Miami Waiver- This is the waiver that needs to be filled out by all rowers, coaches and chaperones that are travelling to Miami. It's for the boathouse, not for Shipley.
Rower & Parent Contact Info- This ensures that the coaches have all necessary contact information for the rowers and parents.
Fees Form- This is everyone's favorite. It obviously details the costs for the upcoming season. If you have a concern, please contact me. I will ensure that anyone who wants to row will not be excluded from participating in either the season or the trip. Either bring the form and check(s) to the meeting or mail to me at the address at the top of the form.
Trip Consent and Itinerary- This is a new spring trip contract required by the school. No one will be allowed to go on the trip without having this form completed. It also re-states the trip itinerary at the end.
On-Line
Instructions for Waiver Signing- Parents, follow the instructions to complete your child's waiver. They will not be able to race without it, and it only takes a minute to complete.
Hopefully that covers everything. Feel free to print out anything you have a question about and bring it to the meeting with you on Tuesday. Remember, there is no commitment implied by attending this meeting, so please help spread the word and tell anyone that may have an interest in learning more about the crew program in general to attend. 8th grade parents and student as well. Thanks, and I look forward to seeing everyone on Tuesday.
