Coaching Staff Completed

I'm happy to announce that our coaching staff has been restored to full size. Our new novice girls' coach is Alair Holdsworth who rowed at Fordham and has been coaching for many years around the Philadelphia area. Those of you who are rowing this fall are already familiar with Alair and we are very excited to have her joining the Shipley Crew Team family. We have also just signed on Charles Biddle as our new varsity boys' coach. Charlie is a Shipley alum, and a member of one of the first crews I coached when I took over as the head coach. After Shipley, he rowed all four years at Bates College and went on to compete at the Elite level at Undine Barge Club. Charlie will also be working at Shipley in the development office. One of his primary jobs is to help raise money for the Shipley Crew Team, especially for the building of brand new rowing tanks at Shipley! Jackie Castorino has also decided that she couldn't bear to leave the Shipley family, and has decided to stay on as our novice boys' coach. I'm very excited for our upcoming year and think that we have an outstanding coaching team assembled. Thanks for all of your patience during these past months as we have scrambled to accomplish this goal. I didn't want to rush to just hire the first person who applied for the jobs, but decided to be patient to find the right fit for our team. I am very happy to say that the goal has been accomplished and I believe it will be a fantastic group moving forward.
