Vesper Boat Club will be hosting a seminar for parents, coaches and students interested in learning more about the collegiate recruiting process. This hour and a half conference will cover a variety of topics including:
Varsity Rowing-An Overview
- Understanding Varsity rowing in the US.
- The difference between Men’s and Women’s rowing.
- What is an equivalency sport and how does it affect a recruited athlete’s potential for scholarship?
An overview of the most essential NCAA rules and regulations.
- Understanding important dates on the timeline of a recruited athlete.
- Navigating recruiting rules to effectively communicate with a coach or University.
Understanding what it takes to row in college and compete for a scholarship?
- Specific attributes for a recruited athlete from the desks of collegiate coaches.
- Division 1, 2, 3. What’s the difference?
- Amendments/additions to scholarships after the first year?
Tips to Getting your name out to the Collegiate rowing world, information/resources that can help.
- Communicating effectively with a coach or institution.
- How to act in front of a coach or university official.
